I’m Philip Alexander, an artist from North Carolina who creates daily in a variety of mediums.

Art is an essential part of my daily life—an instinct more than a decision. I’m drawn to forms found in nature and the structure of the human figure, interpreting both through a variety of materials. My work moves between disciplines, often slowly, sometimes obsessively, always with a focus on process and presence. Creating is how I understand the world around me and my place within it.

I draw every day. Not always to produce a finished piece, but because I need to. Creating is how I connect to the world around me—how I observe it, process it, and respond.

  • I was born and raised just outside of Charlotte, NC. I still reside in the greater Charlotte area but love to spend lots of time in the northeast, specifically Maine.

  • I was actually voted most creative in my senior class and have always been artistic. I work a regular 9-5 as a design engineer at the intersection of my artistic vision and love of math. This website, created in 2025 is my first foray into putting my artwork out into the world.

  • I enjoy spending time outside, gardening, fishing, and gaming with my wife and three kiddos.
